Additional Questions:

What Is The Exploring IT Program?

The Exploring IT Rotation Program, sponsored by Pariveda Solutions, will give 20 high school students, like yourself, who have expressed an interest in computer and technology based careers, a chance to learn what it is like to work in the field of information technology.

During April, you will visit three outstanding host companies to get different perspectives on what it is like to work in one of the fastest growing – and fastest changing – industries in the world today.

So Who Are These Host Companies?

iBeta is a full-service software quality assurance (QA) consulting firm providing services to enterprise business, government agencies, voting system manufactures and video game publishers and developers. We started in 1999 as a video game testing facility and have since tested over 700 game titles. We are certified by Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo to test on all PlayStation consoles, Wii and DS consoles and XBOX consoles. We also maintain a compliance and compatibility lab for PC title testing and a datacenter for MMO load and performance testing. We maintain a fully secure testing facility with three layers of security including video and biometric.

MapQuest offers Internet, wireless and business solutions that help people find places. MapQuest.com is one of the most recognized and trusted brands on the Internet, and offers the leading consumer Web site for maps and directions, serving more than 50 million users in September 2007, according to comScore Media Metrix. MapQuest, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of AOL LLC, is based in Denver, Colorado.

ViaWest is a leading provider of colocation, managed hosting, managed services and disaster recovery solutions to over 1300 mid-sized businesses and enterprise customers. We have served customers with our state-of-the-art data centers since 1999.  ViaWest has made investments in virtualization to meet customer needs and reduce energy consumption.  Some of the customers we support are Chipolte, Frontier Airlines, and the Denver Broncos.

When and Where Will The Visits Occur?

You will visit each company once throughout April. All sessions will be held on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The events will occur at each company site located in downtown Denver, Aurora and the DTC. There are a few spots for parents as chaperones.

What Do I Get Out Of It?

You will get a taste of what it is like to work with leading-edge technologies in exciting companies. You’ll visit where they work, learn about how they spend their days, and hear about the many rewards and challenges that come with a career in IT.
