On Wednesday, April 7, the Denver Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division will host a "Court Day" for the Law Explorers Program. The event will start at 1:30 pm and will take place at the Denver County Court, 1437 Bannock Street. The program will include an observation of court sessions, a meeting with the Sheriff's office and tour of the jail facilities at the court, and a conversation with a County Court Judge and attorneys from the office of the Denver City Attorney and the Public Defender. The program should conclude at 4 pm.
Students should meet the DBA representative inside the Denver City & County Building outside of Courtroom 191J at 1:25 pm. The entrance to Courtroom 191J is on the back side of the building, off of Cherokee Street. Please enter at the Cherokee Street entrance, which should be marked as the entrance for "Courtroom 191J (Juvenile Proceedings)." Note that you CAN NOT access 191J from the main entrance on the Bannock Street side of the building. You will have to go through a metal detector, so please allow an extra five to ten minutes to get through this process.
Please remember to wear business attire (no jeans). Do not hesitate to contact Anna Edgar at akedgar@hhlaw.com or 303-454-2554 with any questions.
Note that if you are not a member of the Law Explorer’s program, you will need to bring a completed application with you to the event. |
